The pediatric RN may be required to carry out a variety of clinical skills such as IV therapy, palliative care, tube feeding, medication administration, wound care, and health teaching.  QUALIFICATIONS

To take on the position of Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse, you must have the following:

  • Current CPR-Provider certification.
  • Explicit Intervention and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last twelve months.
  • Current registration with the CLPNA in good standing
  • Completion of 3-day Care of Children with Complex Needs course (provided by employer)
  • Have an up-to-date Immunization Record and evidence of a negative TB test within the last twelve months.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Previous childcare experience is an asset.
  • Have Proven organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work days, evening and overnight awake visits, including every other weekend

 Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse may include the following:

  • Oxygen & Humidity Therapy
  • G-tube management
  • Medication Administration
  • Tracheostomy care and suctioning
  • Provide personal care to children proactively and with compassion.
