Job description

The work of the Registered Nurse Staff Development Coordinator is to plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service education in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

 

Qualification

Licensure, Experience, And Education Requirements

  • Nursing diploma (bachelor’s or associate’s degree in nursing)
  • One (1) year of geriatric nursing experience (preferred)
  • Current CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation.
  • A Teaching/education experience preferred
  • Be Currently licensed/registered in the applicable state. Must maintain an active RN license in good standing throughout employment.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Passion and ability to effectively educate and train all nursing associates and other associates as applicable
  • Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must have Expert knowledge in the field of practice
  • Displays professionalism and integrity by sticking to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes compulsory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
  • Perform proficiently in all areas, including but not limited to patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain professional working relationships with all vendors, associates, etc.
  • Implement and interpret the programs, objectives, goals, procedures, and policies of the department
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information
  • Have the knowledge of practices and procedures as well as the regulations, guidelines, and laws governing functions in the post-acute care facility
  • Should understand and follow company policies, including compliance and harassment  procedures

 

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will perform the following functions;

  • Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate staff training, education, in-service, and orientation
  • Help in the evacuation of patients
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • Stand, sit, reach, stoop, pull, push, lift, walk, bend, and move intermittently during working hours
  • Display excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients
  • Communicate and function constructively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Concentrate and use good judgment and reasoning skills
  • Maintain in-service records and associate training
  • speak, read, write, speak, and understand the English language
